I grew up in Saskatchewan, Canada, where I spent much of the cold winters huddled a pile of blankets, reading, envying American kids their snow days, and cultivating a travel bug for warmer climes. As a grownup, I’ve lived in eleven cities in five different countries, none of them as cold as Saskatchewan. These days I live in Colorado with my husband and three children. On our many snow days, you’ll either find me outside, scoffing at the American notion of cold, or indoors huddled under blankets, reading.
